We work with local artists and residents, community groups and a wide range of partners, to produce enjoyable, free, friendly, celebratory activities and events for the whole family.

OCA is a long-established  arts organisation with a successful track record of over 35 years in community participation through producing visual and celebratory art projects.

The organisation was founded by Ordsall residents before becoming a voluntary organisation constituted to provide arts and education opportunities for Salford residents. Since 2004 it has been led by Creative Director, Gail Skelly, and works with a team of volunteers and freelance artists, who all live locally. Gail and the team have recently been joined by Laura Kendall, as Community Engagement Officer. Laura joined OCA as a volunteer in 2014 and now we couldn't do without her!

OCA employs many media; celebratory 3d art, music, drama, design, photography, sculpture etc. Through applying for external funding, OCA has been able to provide projects and workshops that benefit the  local community. Our premises in Ordsall allows us to use our workshop as well as working in other venue's e.g. schools & churches. In addition to this OCA actively seeks out projects, workshops and groups in the City of Salford area in order to engage local people in activities they would not normally have access to.

We have strong links with other local community groups and organisations such Salford Lads & Girls Club, Ordsall Community Cafe and Friends of Ordsall Park, to help establish artistic activities that utilise and showcase the talents of the local people. OCA believes in volunteer involvement and are always keen to support new volunteers, to help us organise and run our activities.
